It’s that time of year again. Our SIG will need to elect three new officers to the positions listed below. We need at least two candidates for each office. Please consider nominating a colleague, or even yourself. I have set the nominations deadline for Friday November 8th. That will give us three weeks for elections.<\/p>\n
If you have any questions abou the requirements for each office, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I will do my best to answer them, or forward to the appropriate person.<\/p>\n

Dear SIG Chairs and Co-Chairs,<\/p>\n
The AERA General Election is fourteen weeks away and we at the Central Office are delighted to have the opportunity to work with you to implement electronic voting for Research Use (SIG\u00a0 100).\u00a0 Now is a good time to begin the nomination process.<\/p>\n
After reviewing the SIG\u2019s current list of officers and bylaws, we have concluded that the following positions will be on the SIG\u2019s ballot for the 2016 elections:<\/p>\n
Chair 1 year term
\nSecretary 1 year term
\nProgram Chair 1 year term<\/p>\n
While SIGs may have different nominating procedures, it is recommended that a nominating committee be constituted to coordinate the effort. The use of an open call sent out through the SIG\u2019s Announcement Listserv for nominations is also a good way to encourage members of your SIG to make nominations (including self-nominations). The 2016 Guide to SIG Elections can be found on theResources for SIG Officers webpage. Please be reminded that it is AERA’s policy that there must be two or more candidates for each office.<\/p>\n
The ballot entry website will become available Monday, October 26, 2015 and will close on Monday, November 30, 2015.\u00a0 Governance staff will send instructions on use of the entry website on the 26th. Please complete the nomination process as soon as possible consonant with an open call. It is important to view November 30 as the end date.<\/p>\n
AERA holds only one election cycle each year AERA-Wide, including for all SIG elections. Therefore, it is important to do this now.<\/p>\n
