The purpose of the SIG is to better understand how research is used to improve education policy and practice, and to foster improvement of dissemination and use of research findings.
To accomplish this mission, the SIG supports a variety of activities, including affiliation with AERA and engagement in research sessions at the annual meeting; facilitating communication amongst its membership; stimulating scholarship in research and disseminating information regarding members’ publications; promoting professional development opportunities and other events for members; and by recognizing contributions of our colleagues working in research use with the annual Research to Practice award.
To learn more about the governance of the RU SIG please refer to our bylaws.
Our vision is to create a space where international education researchers, program implementers, and decision makers can work together in their respective professional roles so that, within a diverse and reciprocal environment, there will be better understanding and improved practice.
